Clinical application of sealed negative pressure wound therapy dressing in a clean medical setting

CLINICAL MECHANISM & PRINCIPLES

How NPWT Works

A wound vac uses a sealed dressing connected to a small pump that applies gentle, controlled suction to remove excess fluid and support an environment for healing.

  • Fluid & Exudate Clearance: Controlled sub-atmospheric pressure removes excess interstitial drainage and wound edema.
  • Microdeformation & Perfusion: Mechanical tension stimulates healthy granulation tissue formation and localized vascular circulation.
  • Protective Sterile Seal: The semi-permeable film dressing insulates the healing wound bed against airborne contaminants.

Clinical Oversight & Protocol Requirement

Used only under a provider's order. Negative pressure parameters, continuous versus intermittent modes, and dressing change cadences must be specified by a licensed practitioner based on individualized patient assessment.

All NPWT equipment and specialized canister supplies are delivered and serviced in complete adherence with clinical compliance guidelines.

COMPLIANCE & TERMS

Important Guidelines

Review essential clinical verification steps, direct payment agreements, and device custody guidelines before equipment release.

1. Mandatory Prescription Requirement

A formal, signed prescription from a licensed physician or authorized clinical provider is strictly required before any NPWT pump, canister, or dressing package can be dispatched. Therapy parameters and wound diagnosis must accompany all orders.

2. Direct Facility Self-Pay Terms

Royal Wound Care operates exclusively under direct facility and private self-pay terms. Royal Wound Care does not bill Medicare, Medicaid, or third-party commercial insurance carriers. Facilities maintain full fiscal responsibility for daily or monthly rental billing under our transparent partner pricing schedule.

Equipment Security & Apple Tag Monitoring Policy

Fine Print & Custody Terms: Prescription required. Self-pay only - Royal Wound Care does not bill Medicare or insurance for NPWT rentals. Each NPWT unit has an Apple Tag to monitor location. Tampering with the device invokes a full charge for equipment replacement. We collect credit card or banking information and if equipment is damaged or lost the renter is charged the replacement amount. A $250 refundable deposit is required for each rental. It is applied to the rental cost if the equipment is used, and refunded if the equipment is unused and returned as agreed.
